  • Overview

    Currie & Brown is currently looking for a construction MEP (mechanical, electrical and plumbing) estimator for our office in Minneapolis, MN. The successful candidate(s) will support project leaders in generating a high standard of service delivery, achieving successful outcomes for our clients, capturing and sharing knowledge across projects, enhancing our culture of innovation and reinforcing our reputation as a preferred service provider.

    Responsibilities

    Responsibilities for the successful candidate(s) will include:

     

    • Preparing construction mechanical cost estimates and providing business support to senior staff
    • Analyzing design documents, providing take-off and pricing
    • Maintaining pricing information to use in construction deliverables
    • Using e-takeoff tools and various estimating software suites
    • Reviewing deliverables for adherence to company best practice
    • Reviewing deliverables for benchmark data and adherence to key cost driver data
    • Supporting lead estimators in reconciliation efforts
    • Managing relations with clients/colleagues as to deliverable requirements and confidentiality
    • Organizing deliverables and related documents in adherence to company best practice
    • Performing other duties as supervisor or senior leadership deem necessary
    • Supervising and/or assisting interns and data analysts
    • Coordinating with senior and technical staff required
    • Representing the organization in conference with clients and potential clients

    Qualifications

    Requirements:

     

    • Bachelor’s degree in construction/mechanical engineering/quantity surveying and a minimum of four years’ relevant experience; or
    • Associates’ degree in construction with a minimum of five years’ relevant experience
    • Firm decision-making abilities, excellent communication and presentation skills
    • Experience in cost estimating/scheduling software systems
    • Strong IT skills including intranet, MS Windows and Office suite
    • Professional designations, eg CPE, CEP, RICS, CVS, AVS, LEED, CCE preferred.
    • Dedication to current/continued pursuit of registrations highly recommended.
